The Data Processor utilizes Tessitura the museums database of record to ensure the highest caliber of constituent data. Situated within the Museums Development office the data processor works within a team of database-oriented staff who not only support fundraising but also assist many other museum departments such as Accounting Guest Services Marketing and Communications and Membership. By efficiently recording and reporting on a variety of constituent data the data processor works to optimize Tessitura for satisfaction of the museums donors members and guests and for the success of the institution as a whole.
Responsibilities:
Assist the MFAH in achieving its goals by maintaining superior constituent data
Competently finish assigned daily data entry tasks and assist the database coordinator in maintaining the accuracy of the task board
Fulfill daily data entry tasks related to constituent data such as requests for one-off record updates and inactivating records
Complete monthly quarterly and annual data entry tasks surrounding various consituent groups such as updating contact information and attributes
Systematically review data entered by other staff and by constituents themselves (via the MFAH website) making the corrections necessary to curtail further review
Sort contributions received by mail and submit the virtual daily bank deposit
Proficiently record verify and archive contributions processing changes as necessary
Generate various reports for internal and external use such as daily batch reports and weekly contribution receipts
Assist senior database staff in testing the efficacy of periodic mass data quality projects
Perform clerical duties related to data processing and fundraising such as filing archiving and mailing
Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
Meticulous accuracy and attention to detail
Commitment to confidentiality
Knowledge of Tessitura or comparable donor database experience preferred
Knowledge of commonly-used data entry and validation concepts practices and procedures
Excellent typing and proofreading skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook Excel Word)
Ability to work self-reliantly within a team environment
Ability to learn quickly and meet daily processing deadlines
Education and Experience:
High school diploma
Minimum two years data processing experience
