We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to drive analysis evaluation and collaboration of servers data center cooling and electrical Infrastructure components systems and equipment. We are looking for a team oriented innovative logical mindset forward-thinking self-confident experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

As an Apple Mechanical Engineer you will drive the evaluation of wide variety of devices equipment and systems in our focused lab environments and in our data centers. The key objective is to innovate or refine our test environments evaluate and characterize systems root cause failure analysis with the goal of improving a concept product service methods and procedures.

Innovate and collaborate in designing or improving evaluation environments test fixtures and systems for new technologiesnDefine and document project requirements risks effort and schedulenDrive transportation and vibration analysisnCreate or manipulate CAD 3D models for use with CFD FEA or other modeling and simulation toolsnCorrelate lab data to model results and collaborate findings to cross functional teamsnConduct design validation of device or system to requirements analyze and collaborate results across Apple development groups nContribute to our global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement at a global scalenSupport Data Center Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis maintenance / troubleshooting support and procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issues

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineer or a related field or equivalent job-related experiencen5 years experience with Mechanical 2D and/or 3D modeling toolsn5 years of experience analysis methods such as CFD FEA stress strain vibration analysis thermal fluid flow or failure analysis

5 years of experience in product design or validation or evaluation nHands on experience working in a dynamic lab environmentnProven record of excellent problem solving skills nExperience in researching understanding and explaining complex systems in clear and concise languagenExperience in methods for root cause failure analysis and corrective actionsnA thorough understanding of the fundamental aspects of a thermal designnStrong modeling skills modeling techniques with experience accurately capturing complex details and understanding of machine shop processesnExperience with CFD analysis tools such as 6 Sigma ICEPAK etcnUnderstanding of data center infrastructure operation and cooling solutionsnProficient with Excel Numbers or equivalent to organize analyze and visualize datanSelf starter self driven and able to lead other team members nUnderstanding of electrical engineering
