Overview

Microsofts Cloud Operations & Innovation (COI) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Data Center IT Project Manager (DCPM)on the U.S. Government Airgap team you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsofts dedicated online services supporting the U.S. Government.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret project data to provide recommendations and strategic recommendations for datacenter-related operations models support and implementation plans
  • Interpret customer requirements as they relate to standard operating procedures and drive parity between the two
  • Collaborate across internal groups external suppliers and customers
  • Document and improve processes around planning implementation operations confidentiality security and compliance to ensure the work that is being done is securely compliantly efficiently and per standards
  • Represent Microsoft in engagements with internal/external entities and the U.S. Government
  • Participate in technical communities to stay informed of effective practices and changes within the broader discipline and share them with the organization
  • Develop create implement and support physical and operations security (OPSEC) policies plans and processes internal security and compliance teams that allow Datacenter Operations to operate in a manner that is compliant with relevant U.S. Government (and/or other unique environment) security standards and requirements for the operation of highly confidential and regulated projects
  • Empower a culture of safety security and compliance in all aspect of datacenter activities
  • Establish and enhance working relationships with customers
  • Create and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on time delivery
  • Plan manage and communicate end-to-end project plans with stakeholders and teams
  • Perform day-to-day project check-in and update accordingly to manage project delivery and quality
  • Identify risks gaps and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution
  • Gather and provide feedback on lessons learned effective practices and innovations on process/procedures and tools to improve efficiencies and productivity
  • Work with various Engineering Operations Electrical and Mechanical Engineers DC Build Managers and Regional Technical Infrastructure Managers during project planning and execution
  • Learn live and coach the One Microsoft culture and values. Lead through change by bringing clarity generating energy and delivering success

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3 years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments
    • OR equivalent experience

Other Requirements

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft customer and/or
government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include
but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access
    to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation
    (SSBI) with Polygraph. Ability to meet Microsoft customer and/or government security screening
    requirements are required pre-offer and post-hire for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the
    appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in
    employment action up to and including termination.
  • Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security
    clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide
    clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud
    background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due
    to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically this position supports United States federal
    state and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain
    citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal
    requirement citizenship will be verified via a valid passport or other approved documents or
    verified US government Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Science Technology Engineering Mathematics STEM college degree or certification in IT with equivalent work experience
  • 2 years of experience evaluating testing implementing certifying and accrediting classified and sensitive but unclassified information systems for both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software
  • Experience with the analysis and evaluation of hardware in support of the Intelligence Community (IC) Department of Defense and other Federal Government Agencies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
  • Perform and execute organizations safety programs and policies and compliance knowledge assessments

Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102600 - $202800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137500 - $225800 per year.
