JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES INCLUDING UTILIZATION OF EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

Ability to provide effective leadership to IT Department staff.

Ability to maintain and repair all types of computer hardware and software.

Ability to manage and control IT budget to remain within accepted budget guidelines.

Knowledge and ability to ensure the integrity protection and security of all electronic data.

Knowledge of web and software development methodology and procedures.

Thorough and in-depth knowledge of FDOH approved desktop software such as Microsoft Office and Windows.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

This position is a full-time in-office position. You must be willing to physically come in the office to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

This position requires current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The Department of Health is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship.

A minimum of 10 years verifiable experience in troubleshooting networks within a TCP/IP environment.

A minimum of 10 years Networking experience with windows Operating Systems and PC Repair.

A minimum of 10 years supervisory or management experience within an Information Technology program.

Willing to work before during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a Special Needs or Red Cross shelter or performing other emergency duties including but not limited to responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster man-made or natural. Emergency duties may also include in-state and/or out-of-state deployment.

Current Florida Department of Health (DOH) Employee.

*This position performs comprehensive planning for and directs the implementation of all IT related projects; provides guidance training and direction to all IT staff in diagnosis repair and maintenance of hardware software programming web and networking problems; and is responsible for hiring training supervising communicating motivating promoting mentoring discipling or recommending such actions of employees and support personnel. Twenty (20) years of experience in computer support for current Windows systems office applications and computer hardware or ten plus (10) years of experience as described above and either: (a) completion of a 720-classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college or (b) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems. Ten plus (10) years supervisory or management experience within an Information Technology program. This position requires possession of a valid drivers license.
