Job Summary
Border Bank is seeking a friendly detail-oriented Customer Support Specialist to join our team. This position has the flexibility to office at any of our current Border Bank locations in Fargo North Dakota or Badger Baudette Clearbrook Coon Rapids Greenbush International Falls Middle River Roseau or Thief River Falls Minnesota.
The Customer Support Specialist will serve customers through multiple communication channels including phone and email while helping resolve questions complete requests and support a positive customer experience.
Customer Support Specialist Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers in an accurate courteous and customer-focused manner.
- Respond to customer inquiries through voice email and other communication channels as needed.
- Listen actively ask thoughtful questions and communicate clearly and professionally.
- Maintain knowledge of Border Bank products services procedures and general information to assist customers effectively.
- Work to resolve customer requests or concerns at the first point of contact whenever possible.
- Take ownership of customer interactions and follow through to a positive resolution.
- Use sound judgment problem-solving skills and available resources to address customer needs.
- Protect the security and confidentiality of bank customer and employee information by following established verification standards.
- Navigate multiple systems screens and tools while assisting customers.
- Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling including possible evenings and weekends.
- Represent Border Bank positively in customer employee and community interactions.
- Support other bank activities as needed as part of the broader team.
Customer Support Specialist Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous customer service and/or banking experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain composed and adaptable in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
- Comfortable using multiple computer systems and tools.
Schedule
- Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm with rotating Saturday shifts from 8:00am to noon. Saturday shifts are paid at double time!
