Custodian: Part-Time Nights

The Deerfield Park District has a mission to provide outstanding parks services facilities and recreation programs that enrich lives promote healthy living and provide memorable experiences. To support our over 25 parks and facilities we have a dedicated and diverse workforce of over 500 staff seasonally. Join a supportive team keeping the Jewett Park Community Center (JPCC) clean safe and ready for programs rentals and events. Youll also serve as building supervisor after hours. We are looking to hire 2 part-time custodians to share the schedule and help cover shifts as needed.

Pay rate: $20.00

Available Shifts:
Monday - Friday: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
Hours may vary within that time frame and are kept under 1000 per year. With multiple custodians on the team shifts can be split and covered flexibly.

Essential Functions Include:

• Clean and disinfect restrooms common areas offices and program rooms.
• Empty trash and recycling and keep restrooms stocked.
• Set up and break down rooms tables and chairs for programs rentals and events.
• Respond to spills leaks and other unplanned needs.
• Lock and secure the building at closing and follow District emergency procedures.
• Perform light painting carpentry and maintenance; assist with snow removal as needed.
• Provide friendly responsive service to guests renters and staff.
• Cover additional shifts for fellow custodians as needed.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of housekeeping or facility maintenance experience.
• Available weekday evenings; able to work independently.
• Ability to read chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance and be on your feet for long periods of time.

Wage Range: $20.00 - $22.00 starting pay at the base of range.
