As a Custodian youll help maintain the classrooms residence halls offices and public spaces that make McPherson College a welcoming place for students faculty staff and visitors. Your work directly contributes to the health safety and appearance of our campus while supporting the Colleges mission of providing an outstanding educational experience.

What Youll Do

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Cleaning classrooms offices residence halls restrooms and other campus facilities.

Sweeping vacuuming mopping floors dusting furniture and cleaning drinking fountains.

Emptying trash and recycling containers while replenishing paper products and restroom supplies.

Cleaning windows chalkboards and other assigned areas.

Assisting with deep cleaning projects during summer and academic breaks.

Helping prepare campus facilities for special events and other activities as needed.

Working with fellow custodians to maintain a clean safe and welcoming campus.

Every day is a little different and youll have opportunities to assist with a variety of projects throughout the year.

What Were Looking For

Were looking for someone who:

Takes pride in producing quality work.

Is dependable honest and self-motivated.

Enjoys working independently while also being part of a team.

Has good communication and customer service skills.

Can manage assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Is able to perform the physical requirements of custodial work including lifting up to approximately 30 pounds and remaining active throughout the workday.

Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience is helpful but not required. Equivalent combinations of education training and relevant work experience will be considered. A positive attitude strong work ethic and willingness to learn are just as important as prior experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time 12-month position.

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evenings weekend or overtime work may be required to support campus events or operational needs.
