The Colorado Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has four major operational divisions: Army National Guard Air National Guard Civil Air Patrol and Veterans Affairs. Description of Job

This position is part of the Air National Guard branch located at Buckley Space Force Base and will be responsible for the cleaning of several buildings on base. The working hours of this position are Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be required to work some pre-planned weekends for 4-hour shifts. The position is responsible for performing custodial duties minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy safe and sanitary manner.

Specific duties of this position include:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting lavatories sinks and drinking fountains.
  • Sweeping/mopping stripping waxing and sealing floors.
  • Vacuuming spot cleaning and shampooing carpets.
  • Collecting and removing trash.
  • Spot cleaning walls and other surfaces.
  • Cleaning windows ledges and blinds.
  • Reorder and replace cleaning supplies.
  • Replenish and restock paper products soap and other supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of entrance and exit areas.
  • Assist during snow/weather emergencies by ensuring floors are dry and securing mat placement etc.
  • Secure storage areas and ensure supplies and materials are stored in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Report maintenance issues equipment in need of repair building or facility damage and acts of vandalism.
  • May be required to assist with minor facility maintenance such as painting lawn care and hedge trimming.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience Only:

Six (6) months of professional custodial experience.


Special Minimum Qualifications:
Must be able to pass a background investigation.
Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
Must be able to obtain a security clearance.

Must have a valid State of Colorado drivers license.
Must be able to operate and maintain custodial equipment such as buffers extractors and floor strippers.
