Who We Want
Miller Industries is seeking a Custodian for our 1st Shift at our new location in Hazel Park Michigan. 1st shift hours are 6 am to 4:30 pm Monday Thursday with some overtime hours on Fridays and/or weekends as needed for support.
What You Will Be Doing
DAILY
  • Empty offices and canteen trash
  • Dust desktops where possible
  • Vacuum all common areas.
  • Clean all cubicle stalls urinals in both sets of bathrooms
  • Change out bathroom tissues as required. Top up hand dry towels.
  • Dry sweep bathroom floors. Mop if necessary.
  • Wipe down all sinks bright work mirrors
  • Disinfect all handles offices entrance ways common areas.
  • Wipe down common areas canteen surfaces. Clean away after luncheon events.
  • Empty trash from bins located in the factory areas.
  • Assist with collecting rubbish packaging etc. and discard the outside dumpster.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned.
WEEKLY
  • Clean all glass in offices and common areas to height of 6ft.
  • Check all soap dispensers and top off.
  • Wet mop all bathroom areas.
  • Vacuum all office spaces common areas.
  • Use the Tennent floor sweeper in the factory to reduce dust levels.
  • Check all upstairs office spaces for signs of animals water leaks. Complete log sheet.
  • Antibacterial wipe down all eye wash stations.
  • Wipe down all fire extinguishers. Report any missing or discharged.
  • Inspect all first aid boxes for inventory and replace as required.
  • Empty common area fridges of all perishables.
  • Clean all cubicle walls and doors in the bathrooms.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned.

What Requirements Are Needed
2 years of related experience.
  • Previous janitorial experience preferred.
  • Comfortable using electrical and mechanical items vacuum Tennent floor sweeper.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Physical & Mental Requirements
The job is performed in a manufacturing setting regularly exposed to the following: noise fumes dirt heat sparks smoke dust vibration grease moving objects/parts. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. Work may include exposure to hazardous chemicals. Inside working conditions with exposure to hot and cold conditions.
Must have the physical mental strength and endurance to perform duties. Physical ability to frequently walk stand for extended periods of time balance stoop crouch kneel push pull twist turn and lift while performing functions of position. Must be able to reach overhead and climb ladders as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
