Custodian

MalaceHR is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Custodial Technicians to join our team supporting a large college campus. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean safe and welcoming environment for students faculty staff and campus visitors. Successful candidates will take pride in their work demonstrate reliability and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms lecture halls offices restrooms common areas hallways and campus facilities.
• Sweep mop vacuum dust and sanitize floors and surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms replenish soap paper towels and restroom supplies.
• Clean windows glass doors mirrors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate custodial equipment such as vacuums floor scrubbers buffers and carpet extractors.
• Perform routine floor care including mopping stripping waxing and buffing as needed.
• Report maintenance issues safety hazards or damaged equipment to supervision.
• Follow all campus safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain custodial closets and equipment in a clean and organized manner.
• Assist with room setups and special event cleaning when needed.
• Perform other custodial duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial housekeeping janitorial or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Comfortable working in occupied educational buildings.
• Must be able to successfully complete any required background screening.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Lift carry push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Bend kneel squat climb stairs and reach overhead regularly.
• Ability to operate standard custodial equipment safely.
• Work around cleaning chemicals while following all safety procedures.

Schedule

First Shift (Training)

• 4:00 AM 12:30 PM
• After approximately 24 weeks this position will permanently transition to:
  • 10:00 PM 6:30 AM (3rd Shift)

Second Shift

• 2:00 PM 10:30 PM
