McPherson College is seeking an experienced hands-on Custodial Supervisor to lead our custodial team while helping maintain a beautiful clean and welcoming campus.

What Youll Do

As Custodial Supervisor youll split your time between working with the custodial team and providing day-to-day leadership.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Working alongside custodial staff to clean classrooms offices residence halls athletic facilities and public spaces.
• Planning daily work assignments and coordinating custodial coverage across campus.
• Training new employees on cleaning procedures equipment safety practices and College standards.
• Coaching mentoring and supporting custodial staff while fostering a positive team environment.
• Conducting building inspections to ensure consistent quality and cleanliness.
• Coordinating major cleaning projects including floor refinishing carpet cleaning wall washing and summer deep-cleaning activities.
• Evaluating new custodial products and equipment to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintaining custodial checklists records schedules and performance evaluations.
• Collaborating with other Facilities Management staff to support special events and campus operations.

What Were Looking For

Were looking for someone who enjoys serving others leading by example and taking pride in maintaining a beautiful campus.

Successful candidates will have:

• Experience supervising or leading a custodial housekeeping facilities or similar operations team.
• Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning methods equipment and safe chemical handling.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• The ability to motivate train and develop employees.
• Good judgment dependability and a commitment to quality.
• A customer-service mindset with the ability to work effectively with students faculty staff and visitors.
• The ability to perform the physical requirements of custodial work including lifting up to approximately 50 pounds and remaining active throughout the workday.

Equivalent combinations of education training and relevant work experience will be considered. We value practical leadership initiative integrity and a positive attitude just as much as formal education.

Schedule

This is a full-time 12-month position.

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening weekend or overtime work may be required to support campus events special projects or operational needs.
