This is an INTERNAL ONLY posting for current OPRF B&G union staff.
Job Title: Custodial Specialist - Section 2-12
Reports to: Head Custodian
Terms and Conditions: Full-time 12 months 40 hours per week 3:15pm - 11:45pm
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $22.50 per hour per Buildings and Grounds Custodial and
Maintenance collective bargaining agreement.

Areas of Responsibility:
ROUTE 2-12 3rd FLOOR
For all classrooms and offices please pull all the garbage and replace with new liners dust sanitize all of the desks and countertops organize and straighten out the student desks students chairs dry mop the floors clean door glass sweep directly outside of classroom vacuum wet mop and do pick ups with a broom and dustpan when needed. - Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Essential Duties:
- Clean chalkboards with water and marker boards with glass cleaner.
- Clean erasers.
- Dust all horizontal surfaces daily. High dusting (anything 7 ft. or higher) to be done weekly.
- Clean door and window glass.
- Empty waste baskets.
- Wash wastebaskets as required. Replace plastic liners where used and as needed.
- Sweep floor and keep room corners clean.
- Wash student desks.
- Wash all marks from room doors and walls.
- Adjust shades so they all match.
- Report broken desks broken door locks broken shades burned out lights torn or discolored flags leaks etc.
- Replace burned out lights.
- Handle emergencies.
- Pick up litter in hallways and stairs.
- Keep ceiling air grills clean.
- Straighten desks.
- If situation dictates use a wet mop on floors. If room is carpeted clean spills on carpet with carpet cleaner.
- Close and lock windows turn off lights and lock doors when leaving.
- Remove gum from desks and floors.
- Return dirty mop heads to containers provided for them in time for scheduled pick up.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Basic math skills.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Has ability to make decisions and implementations based on policy and procedures of Buildings and Grounds.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills.

Standard operating practice is to conduct job performance evaluations for this job annually according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between The Board of Education OPRFHS District 200 and SEIU Local 73 Buildings & Grounds Custodial and Maintenance Department.
