Cullman Accounting Office Team Lead

• Supervise two accounting office employees: assign daily work set priorities and check quality
• Train new team members and cross-train so key tasks are always covered
• Serve as the first point of contact for questions from the team and store managers

• Prepare verify and record daily bank deposits
• Balance cash and checks to the daily cashier reports and resolve differences
• Follow cash-handling and internal control procedures

• Reconcile credit card transactions and merchant statements to the general ledger
• Research and resolve discrepancies chargebacks and unmatched items
• Complete reconciliations accurately and on schedule for month-end close

• Help with schedules postings and other accounting office duties as needed
• Work with the corporate accounting team on reporting and month-end requests

• 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; dealership accounting strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with deposits and account or credit card reconciliations
• Experience leading or training others formally or informally
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working to deadlines
• Working knowledge of Excel; experience with a dealer management system (DMS) is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in accounting preferred
