Job Overview

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced CT Manager to lead the Computed Tomography department at a large high-acuity medical center in Peoria Illinois.

The CT Manager will oversee daily department operations staff performance patient care quality standards and workflow across a busy CT service supporting a 640-bed hospital and Level I trauma environment. The department operates five GE CT scanners and manages a high volume of complex inpatient emergency and trauma imaging.

This position is ideal for an experienced imaging professional who combines strong technical expertise with proven supervisory leadership in a hospital-based imaging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinical and operational activities of the CT department
  • Supervise support and develop CT Technologists and department staff
  • Coordinate staffing workflow scheduling and patient throughput
  • Maintain safe and efficient operations across five CT scanners
  • Ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging in a fast-paced high-volume environment
  • Support CT imaging for inpatient emergency and Level I trauma patients
  • Perform basic CT imaging when department needs require hands-on clinical support
  • Ensure adherence to established imaging protocols radiation-safety standards and departmental procedures
  • Monitor image quality and promote consistent technical standards
  • Ensure department compliance with applicable regulatory accreditation and hospital requirements
  • Provide staff coaching education competency assessment and performance management
  • Participate in hiring onboarding and development of imaging personnel
  • Collaborate with radiologists physicians nursing staff Emergency Services and other clinical departments
  • Identify workflow challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency and patient care
  • Promote excellent patient service and a positive department culture
  • Assist with equipment performance monitoring and escalation of technical concerns
  • Support quality assurance quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives
  • Maintain accurate department documentation and reporting
  • Utilize Epic and related imaging systems to support clinical and operational workflows
  • Perform other leadership and imaging responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory or imaging leadership experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in an imaging modality within a medical center or hospital-based imaging department
  • Imaging experience may include:
    • Computed Tomography
    • Radiography
    • MRI
    • Ultrasound
    • Nuclear Medicine
    • Other related diagnostic imaging modalities
  • Current ARRT certification
  • Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency licensure or required accreditation
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Strong knowledge of hospital-based imaging operations
  • Ability to lead staff in a fast-paced high-acuity high-volume clinical environment
  • Strong communication organization decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with radiologists physicians nursing leadership and other hospital departments

Preferred

  • Previous CT leadership or supervisory experience
  • Hands-on CT Technologist experience
  • Level I trauma imaging experience
  • Experience working in a large tertiary or academic medical center
  • Experience with GE CT scanners
  • Experience using Epic
  • Previous experience managing multiple imaging rooms or scanners
  • Experience with high-volume emergency and trauma imaging
  • Previous travel imaging experience
