Department Summary Classroom Technologies (formerly DSI Tech) supports UNTs Classrooms as well as distance education across the UNT Enterprise (Fort Worth Dallas and System) with an expertise in AV IT and Soft Codecs. |
Position Overview This position provides high level technical support for Faculty Staff Students and Guests of UNT. Duties include maintaining troubleshooting and repairing A/V systems digital signage systems student/lab computers; responding to user requests for technology assistance training and support; providing technology support for campus events; assisting with other departmental services such as checking out equipment installing software responding to tickets etc. |
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in related field and three years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education training and experience. |
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Prior experience with specific systems equipment and software may be specified as needed by department. Knowledge of principles of computing and communications networks and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environment. Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware. Ability to assimilate retain and utilize technical and applicationsoriented information. |
Preferred Qualifications Detailed knowledge of A/V fundamentals hardware and systemsA/V industry or manufacturer certifications such as AVIXA CTS Extron Control Professional QSC QSys Level 1 Biamp Crestron etc. Working knowledge of computer hardware software and operating systems |
