Job Summary
The Opportunity:
As a Crisis Operations Response Advisor you will advise and provide recommendations in support of DoW strategies and incorporate higher level guidance into planning and operations to deter and counter WMD. Determine and assess impacts of C-WMD and CBRN crisis events on current and future operations and assist in crisis planning and response. Keeps abreast of new/revised policies procedures regulations directives and legislation regarding National Defense C-WMD and CBRN in order to inform planning efforts operations and decision making. Plans organizes and schedules operational planning teams in support of crisis response and DoW exercises. Participate in exercise crisis and steady-state operational planning teams that deal with senior level guidance that must be synthesized into support and requirements for supported component and combatant commands. Learn and stay informed of all CONPLANs OPLANs and associated contingency plans associated with a designated combatant command and all of the current reporting and events occurring within that area of operation. Author edit and create visual presentations AARs situation reports executive summaries and other documentation presenting courses of action decision points daily updates or summaries.
Responsibilities:
Serve as an advisor and planner responsible for executing and coordinating crisis-response planning efforts that directly support the joint force DoW Commands and interagency. This involves supporting Operational Planning Teams as the primary POC for designated Combatant Command with membership from multiple Agency Directorates and Staff sections that conduct complex mission analysis and development of courses of action in both exercise and real-world events.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Current Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information Security Clearance.
- Experience working in Cross Functional Teams Operational Planning Teams and other groups that aim to bring disparate capabilities together to achieve military effects.
- Experience with contingency planning mission analysis and course of action (COA) development.
- Experience in crisis response disaster management or emergency preparedness.
- You must possess the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- You will be able to provide daily feedback to the team lead and supported unit on product development.
- Willing to work rotating shifts if needed
- Bachelors degree and seven years of relevant work experience.
Desired:
- Experience developing processes that enhance situational understanding of WMD and CBRN threats and enabling DoW IA and IC efforts focused on those threats.
- Understanding of the planning and operations of the Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) program.
