Our crane and mobile mechanic has a focus on overall team success through the following responsibilities:
- Aggressively pursuing process improvements and innovative solutions to daily operational challenges.
- Performing mechanical troubleshooting root-cause analysis and repairs on industrial equipment and systems.
- Executing preventive predictive and precision maintenance schedules.
- Maintaining accurate equipment documentation history logs and operational training resources.
- Coordinating with outside vendors contractors and suppliers for resource procurement and specialized repairs.
- Supporting the long-term strategic vision of the maintenance department to ensure maximum equipment reliability and production uptime.
Candidates must be willing to travel for training continued education and business needs. Maintenance teammates must be available to work flexible schedules including rotating shifts nights weekends holidays and on-call coverage during off-hours. Scheduled and unscheduled overtime are required.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
- 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience OR a relevant technical degree combined with 3 years of overhead crane and industrial maintenance experience.
- Proven working knowledge in diagnosing repairing and maintaining gasoline/diesel-powered heavy mobile equipment and industrial machinery.
- Associates or bachelors degree in engineering or a technical degree.
- Experience using basic computer (Windows) systems.
