Job Summary
Position Summary:
The Mailroom Courier is responsible for the timely secure and accurate collection transportation sorting and delivery of election-related mail ballots supplies and official documents. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of election materials while ensuring all deliveries are completed according to established schedules and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Pick up sort and deliver incoming and outgoing election mail ballots and official correspondence.
- Transport sensitive election materials between election offices polling locations government facilities and designated drop-off sites.
- Maintain strict chain-of-custody procedures for ballots and confidential election documents.
- Verify log and obtain signatures for all deliveries and pickups as required.
- Assist with receiving organizing and distributing election supplies and equipment.
- Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters scanners copiers and labeling machines.
- Ensure all mail and packages are processed accurately and delivered on schedule.
- Report delivery discrepancies damaged materials or security concerns immediately to management.
- Maintain accurate records of courier routes deliveries and inventory movement.
- Follow all election policies safety procedures and confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with mailroom operations and other election support duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in mailroom operations courier services logistics or warehouse operations preferred.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive election materials with integrity.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and email.
- Flexible schedule including evenings weekends and extended hours during election periods.
