Job Summary
Stuart Hose & Pipe is looking for an experienced hands-on Counter Sales Specialist to join our team. We dont just take orders at the counter; we solve problems for contractors fleet operators manufacturing plants and field technicians who need reliable solutions fast.
In this role you will be the direct face of our branch helping walk-in and call-in customers identify the right components fabricating custom assemblies and managing orders from start to finish.
Customer Service & Sales: Greet walk-in customers take incoming orders clarify application requirements and recommend the correct hose fittings adapters and accessories.
Fabrication & Assembly: Build crimp cut and test hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies to customer specifications and industry standards.
Identification & Sourcing: Measure and identify thread types (NPT JIC ORFS metric BSPP etc.) flange patterns hose specs and pressure ratings on sample parts brought in by customers.
Order Management & ERP: Enter counter tickets quotes and transfers accurately using our ERP system; check stock availability and manage lead times.
Warehouse & Inventory Support: Assist with restocking counter bins cycle counts receiving inbound transfers and maintaining a clean safe assembly and showroom area.
Direct Experience: Proven hands-on experience in hydraulic and industrial hose assembly crimping and fitting identification.
Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of thread types hose construction pressure ratings and fluid conveyance applications.
Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to read calipers thread pitch gauges tape measures and crimp spec charts accurately.
Computer Skills: Comfortable learning and navigating point-of-sale / ERP software for order entry inventory lookups and quoting.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand on your feet throughout the day lift up to 50 lbs and work with shop fabrication machinery safely.
Work Ethic: Strong communication skills dependable attendance and a problem-solving mindset under fast-paced counter conditions.
Previous experience in fluid power distribution industrial supply or heavy equipment parts counters.
Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus.
