Job Summary

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing project estimating budgeting forecasting and cost control activities across complex construction programs. The cost manager serves as a key business partner to project teams providing financial oversight cost analysis and strategic guidance to ensure projects are delivered on budget and aligned with client objectives.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned cost management professional with extensive experience in construction cost engineering estimating project controls and financial forecasting. This individual will lead a team of cost professionals collaborate closely with project managers and stakeholders and drive best practices across project cost management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of project cost management including estimating budgeting cost control cash flow analysis forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets cost plans and forecasting models throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project expenditures identify cost risks and implement corrective actions to maintain budget compliance.
  • Analyze project specifications drawings schedules and scope requirements to support accurate cost projections and decision-making.
  • Provide detailed cost reporting and performance metrics to project leadership and clients.
  • Lead mentor and manage a team of cost engineers and cost control professionals including workload planning resource allocation and performance oversight.
  • Establish priorities and assign responsibilities to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Coordinate with project management accounting scheduling and project controls teams to ensure seamless integration of project financial data.
  • Support project planning efforts through cost trend analysis variance reporting and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies procedures quality standards and project controls requirements.
  • Review and validate cost engineering deliverables prior to quality control and client submission.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost management processes tools and reporting capabilities.
  • Provide leadership on complex and high-visibility projects requiring sound judgment strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering Finance Quantity Surveying Project Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in construction cost management cost engineering estimating project controls or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience managing cost control efforts on large-scale construction programs and capital projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing cost engineering or project controls teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies project delivery processes and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency with cost management estimating and project controls software applications.
  • Advanced analytical forecasting budgeting and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment on complex business and project issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CCP PSP PMP CEP CCE or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting large infrastructure transportation mission-critical industrial or commercial construction projects.
  • Expertise in earned value management trend analysis risk management and project performance reporting.

Compensation Range:

$118489.97 - $135417.11
