Cosmetology Instructor

POSITION: COSMETOLOGY INSTRUCTORSCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday 4:15PM - 9:45PM (24 hrs/wk)BASIC FUNCTIONTeach a program designed to provide students to complete the 1000 hours of training necessary to take the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology examination. Theoretical and practical applications in the cutting straightening tinting and bleaching of hair wigs and hairpieces are covered. Manicuring and facials are also included. Course covers all phases of cosmetology using a combination of classroom presentations demonstrations and hands-on practical assignments. RESPONSIBILITIESPerform the primary role of a leader of learning as in integrating industry and academic standards within curriculum group and individual instruction utilizing the most effective teaching in recruitment and prepare student for employment or student skill competencies and job readiness and maintain accurate student attendance classroom in such a manner as to ensure an environment conducive to and deliver written records and reports as actively in subject matter advisory abreast of current practices and training to relate to high-school-age-students and other job-related duties as / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:Must have a Designated Subjects Vocational Education Teaching Designated Subjects Career Technical Education (DS CTE) Teaching credential or be eligible to obtain a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential in the appropriate subject matter area (this requires a minimum of three (3) years of full-time recent work experience and or a combination of recent work experience and education) and possess a current license/certificate as applicable in the State of California.
