Level 2 Learning Assistants assist student success in the College of Science in multiple settings.
60-75% - Working with students in group learning settings with LA Faculty present (ie: classrooms help sessions office hours online)
15% Preparing for facilitation by meeting with course faculty reviewing/completing course materials training for being an LA (one time orientation)
10-20% Other duties (ie: independent office hours or review sessions mentoring Level1 LAs facilitating LA interviews or LA Program events such as LA orientation etc.)
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by theOffice of International Services(OIS) and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Prior COS Level 1 experience or equivalent
To become a College of Science Learning Assistant students must also have applied and been accepted to become a Learning Assistant through the OSU
