Description of Work

This position is located at Orange Correctional Center Hillsborough NC Orange County. Orange Correctional Center is a minimum-custody facility that houses male offenders.

Reporting to the Correctional Programs Supervisor this position is responsible for supporting and counseling offenders. This positions responsibilities include the following:

Key Duties Included:

- Manage a caseload of inmates which involves supportive counseling conducting assessments developing case plans answering and following up on offenders questions and problems and making recommendations to the classification committee.
- Aid in major dynamic programs and/or coordinate major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders such as offenders work assignments work releases education or recreation; as well as transition planning and coordinating
- Plan and coordinate transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community
- Perform custody-related duties to include offenders medical court trips site checks Work Release and Community Volunteer Programs Documented knowledge of case management practices or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.
- Develop implement coordinate and supervise a program within the framework of policies and procedures of Prisons.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing form
- Research and stay current of services available to individuals from the community and other public and private programs.

Salary Range: $37377.00 - $65408.00

About The Division of Institutions:

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum medium close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety security and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff program facilitators and administrative personnel.
