Description of Work

This position is located at Craven Correctional Institution in Vanceboro NC Craven County. The prison is a Medium Custody Adult Male Felon Diagnostic Processing Center which houses 850 offenders. Employees in this class play a major role in processing offenders that are newly admitted to the prison system and arriving weekly/monthly at the facility.

Key Duties Include:
- This position will analyze and interpret legal commitments/documents medical data psychological data criminal history social history statistical information gathered from interviews and written documentation and develop effective treatment plans for offenders including recommendations for housing custody treatment and programs.

- Comprehend and abide by policy standard operating procedures emergency plans legal documents and other directives both written and verbal governing daily activities.

- Perform routine supportive counseling and crisis intervention functions to include suicide prevention recognizing abnormal behavior and taking appropriate action in accordance with established procedures.

Salary Range: $39244 - $68679

About The Division of Institutions:

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum medium close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety security and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff program facilitators and administrative personnel.
