Corps Ministry Assistant

The Corps Ministry Assistant provides ministry programmatic and administrative support to the Corps Officer(s) in the planning and implementation of corps ministries programs and activities. The position provides flexible corps-wide support across ministry areas and works with employees volunteers participants and community members to support a safe welcoming and effective ministry environment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Seasonal efforts kettles Christmas Toys Back to School etc....
• Social and ministry programs.
• Corps Ministries VBS Camp recruitment and transportation.
• Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by the Corps officers

Office Responsibilities:

• Provide Written Reports as Needed
• Keep Regular Office Hours as assigned by the Corps Officers
• Assist with answering the phone and provide client assistance as needed.

Program Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning setting up and executing all Corps Programming
• Assist with the coordination and participation of Divisional functions and activities
• Work with the Officers and other personnel on the ministry team to connect social service clients with Corps programs and worship opportunities.

Practical Responsibilities:

• Assist in the maintenance and tidiness of all program areas
• Participate in staff meetings as needed
• Assist in the responsibility for all Salvation Army equipment and property making sure it is secure

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must possess management organizational and creativity skills
• Must possess basic office skills including use of computer
• Must possess a valid drivers license.
• All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance Request for Criminal Record and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
• PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Armys KeepSAfe training required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma/GED
