ABOUT THE ROLE
A sophisticated New York corporate practice is seeking a mid-level associate to work on M&A and broader transactional matters for private companies investors founders and established businesses. Compensation ranges from $225000-$365000 depending on experience. WHAT YOULL DO
- Represent buyers sellers investors and companies in mergers acquisitions dispositions and other strategic transactions
- Draft and negotiate purchase agreements disclosure schedules ancillary agreements and other transaction documents
- Manage transactions from initial diligence and structuring through signing closing and post-closing matters
- Coordinate due diligence and work directly with clients opposing counsel and specialists across relevant practice areas
- Advise private companies on corporate governance commercial arrangements financings and general corporate matters
- Take increasing responsibility for transaction management and direct client communication as your experience grows
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York Bar
- 36 years of corporate transactional experience at a law firm
- Meaningful experience with private M&A transactions
- Strong drafting negotiation analytical and transaction-management skills
- Experience working directly with clients and managing significant portions of transactions preferred
- Ability to handle multiple sophisticated matters while maintaining strong attention to detail
