Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technician II

Job Summary

This positionis responsible forall service-related activities with OEM vendors maintenance repair spare parts inventory biomedical equipment and physical plant repair & maintenance. Must work closely with and be responsive to All Stakeholders within the assigned area IT real estate andpurchasing. Qualified candidates will have a strong technical background which may include an associate degree or military training in electronics Mechanical or biomedical technology.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrates visibility andestablishesproductive relationships with vendors and Stake Holders.
• Activelyparticipatesin management meetings continuous quality improvement and other tasks as requested on the corporate level.
• Utilizes resources to improve skills knowledge and practice toassurecontinuous quality patient care and delivery of Eyecare Partners LLCservice.
• Knowledgeable in CDC OSHA AAMI Joint Commission Network and Medicare standards.
• Acts as a resource to managers facilities and stakeholders.
• Demonstrates ability to train teach and equip staff with necessary resources to function adequately and to the best potential outcome.
• Participates in staff education staff meetings and in-services as needed.
• Initial point of contact for all service-related equipment and physical plant issues.
• Responsible for Inventory of Biomedical Equipment for upload into Eyecare Partners Asset Management database.
• Performs base level assessment and repair for all equipment/physical plant issues in an efficient andtimelymanner.
• When necessarycontactsthe OEM/vendor and coordinates service/repair that minimizes equipment down time. Coordinates loaner units when necessary.
• Performs preventative maintenance or coordinates preventative maintenance with a 3rd party vendor as needed.
• Demonstrates Eyecare Partners mission and established goals in performance management
• Participates in on-going training from OEMs to ensure technical competency for repair of equipment and physical plant in house.
• Install inspectmaintain repair and calibrate biomedical equipment and support systems to adhere to medicalstandardguidelines.
• Perform Life safety inspectionsin accordance withNFPA Standards.
• Perform basic physical plant repairs/preventative maintenance such as changinglightsbulbs.
• Acts as mentor rolemodeland resource for Entry Level Biomedical Technicians by setting an example ofappropriate behavior work habits and attitudes towards patients coworkers and management.

Education:

• Associates/Bachelors Degree in Engineering(Electrical Biomedical Mechanical or related field)

• High School Diploma/GED: Above educationrequirementmay not be held ifcandidaterepresentsthe necessaryindustryexperience.

• 5 years experience servicing electrical electronicsITor mechanical equipment

• Valid Drivers License issued in the employees state of residence

• Motor Vehicle Record must be in compliance with company policy.

Experience Requirements

• 5 Years in the Ophthalmology/Optometry settingand/or CBET Certification (Preferred).

• Minimum of (1) Diagnostic Certification within theOphthalmologyfield.

• Previousmedical office experience preferred;previousophthalmic experience strongly preferred.

• Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
• Ability tolift upto 50 lbs. and safely move large/bulky equipment.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
