Datrose is hiring Cooks to support RIT Dining locations across the Rochester Institute of Technology campus.

These positions are designed to provide qualified employees with an opportunity to get their foot in the door at RIT demonstrate their skills and be considered for direct employment with RIT.

What Youll Do

As a Cook supporting RIT Dining you will prepare hot and cold food in one of RITs campus dining locations while maintaining high standards for food quality sanitation safety and customer service.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare short-order and grill items including hamburgers chicken eggs and other menu items.
Prepare deli salad bar cold food and composed salad items.
Follow established recipes and production specifications.
Wash cut portion and prepare hot and cold foods.
Ensure food is prepared in the appropriate quantity and maintained at proper temperatures.
Maintain proper food labeling rotation and storage.
Assist with training student employees on food preparation sanitation cleaning and equipment use.
Clean grills ovens cooking utensils hoods and other kitchen equipment.
Maintain food safety sanitation and workplace safety standards.
Assist with other dining responsibilities as needed.

What Were Looking For

High School Diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of food service experience in a high-volume restaurant institutional kitchen country club dining operation or similar environment.
ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification within six months.
Ability to successfully complete RITs Cook I culinary skills assessment.
Reliable transportation to and from the RIT campus.
Strong attendance and dependability.
A willingness to learn cross-train and become part of the RIT Dining team.

Schedule

Shift availability varies by dining location and may include:

7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
1:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Pay:$16.00/hour
