Cook, Part-Time

The Cook is responsible for proper food prep cooking and service of food while recognizing special diets residents dietary needs and requests. This position maintains work areas in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service.

Schedule: Part-Time. Work every other Saturday and Sunday 6:30am-2pm every other Monday 6:30am-3pm and every other Wednesday 10:30am-7pm.

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is$18.00 -$21.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience qualifications and when applicable certifications licenses and education.

1. Delivers friendly responsive service to residents families guests and staff.

2. Prepares cooks and serves meals; ensures proper equipment use and maintenance.

3. Follows recipes and portion guidelines accurately; adjusts for group sizes.

4. Maintains food inventory and notifies supervisor of shortages.

5. Keeps work area clean safe and compliant with health regulations.

6. Stocks and rotates groceries to ensure freshness.

7. Coordinates with team for special events and staffing needs.

8. Prepares appropriate meals for special diets and accommodates resident requests.

9. Practices proper safety and sanitation.

10. Collaborates well with others in a dynamic environment.

11. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
• Ability to follow all safety rules regulations policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy HIPAA Residents Bill of Rights Universal Precaution AWAIR OSHA Right to know SDS ADA HUD Policy and Procedures Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Commercial kitchen experience
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Previous senior care experience
• Serv Safe certification or equivalent
• Certified Food Protection Manager
