This position is located at Fort Indiantown Gap Pennsylvania
.Incentives and Bonuses
- Incentives will not be paid.
- Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items.
- Follows recipes to prepare items such as soups stews casseroles gravies sauces hot cereals syrups meatloaf meatballs hamburgers and croquettes. Adjusts recipes for larger or smaller quantities.
- Brings prepared foods from preparation area to refrigerators or serving area. Picks up items needed for menu preparation; rotating food inventories as appropriate. Takes inventory to determine ordering requirements.
- Operates kitchen equipment designed to mix and cook food items. Uses cleans and maintains power kitchen equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of employment

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of4 hours refresher training annually.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs unassisted and occasionally lift objects weighting over 40lbs with assistance of other workers or lifting devices.
- A physical/medical certification is required.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- A minimum of 6 months of work experience directly related to the duties described above that included skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment.

- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time regular part-time and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances cost of living (COLA) and differentials will not be be paid contingent upon eligibility.
