Job Summary

We are seeking a Controls Technician III for an onsite contract role at an industrial manufacturing facility in San Leandro CA.

**Role Overview**

The Controls Technician III is responsible for installing maintaining troubleshooting and optimizing industrial control systems and automation equipment. This role ensures reliable operation of PLCs instrumentation sensors and control networks to support safe and efficient production.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Install configure and maintain PLC HMI and SCADA systems

- Troubleshoot and repair electrical instrumentation and control systems

- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on control equipment

- Calibrate and maintain field instruments (pressure flow temperature level)

- Analyze system faults and implement corrective actions

- Support continuous improvement and automation projects

- Read and interpret electrical drawings P&IDs and control schematics

- Work with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime

- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations (OSHA)

- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance and system changes

**Software & Tools**

- PLC: Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000 (Allen-Bradley); Siemens optional

- SCADA/HMI: Ignition SCADA (Inductive Automation) Factory Talk View SE & ME

- Networking: Ethernet/IP Modbus (RTU/TCP) Profibus Profinet; Wireshark RSLinx

- CMMS: FIIX or similar

- Calibration: HART communicators field calibration tools

- VFD configuration and troubleshooting

**Requirements**

- 5 years of experience with industrial control systems

- Strong hands-on knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000)

- Motor control systems and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

- Industrial network protocols Ethernet/IP Modbus Profibus Profinet

- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings P&IDs and control schematics

- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; comfortable in industrial manufacturing environment

**Nice to Have**

- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology or Automation (manager will consider experience in lieu of degree)

- LOTO and arc flash familiarity (training provided)

- Experience in food beverage dairy or processing plant environments

- SCADA platform development experience (Ignition preferred)

- Understanding of PID tuning and process control loops

- CMMS experience (FIIX Maximo SAP PM)

**Schedule**

Onsite MondayFriday 7:00 AM3:30 PM PST 40 hours/week
