Controls Technician Faribault Plant
This position reports to the Manager of Plant Engineering.

Responsibilities:
- Perform complex troubleshooting of PLCs HMIs VFDs servo systems instrumentation and OT networks.
- Perform I/O testing device replacement wiring and verification activities under supervision.
- Perform electrical inspections testing and verification using multimeters megohmmeters and other approved test equipment as trained.
- Analyze system interactions to identify root causes of intermittent or multi-equipment failures including mechanical issues.
- Perform troubleshooting of plant-wide control system interactions and OT network issues.
- Design program and maintain PLC HMI SCADA and distributed control applications.
- Apply precision calibration tuning and validation techniques to improve process stability and performance.
- Support continuous improvement by optimizing control logic alarms and automation strategies including building new code visualizations and trends.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities for control system components and networks.
- Follow all electrical safety requirements including lockout/tagout arcflash precautions and safe work practices.
- Follow OT electrical and cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Provide cross-functional support during startups changeovers breakdowns and recovery events.
- Document work activities and updates in CMMS and approved control system documentation COPIA.
- Mentor Controls Trainees and support skill development within the controls group.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Twoyear technical degree or equivalent experience in controls electrical automation or related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial controls or automation experience.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot PLCs HMIs VFDs instrumentation and OT networks.
- Experience performing calibrations tuning and system validation.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot basic hydraulic pneumatic and mechanical issues.
- Ability to efficiently learn and use business and technical software toolsincluding Microsoft Office AutoCAD the companys EAMS/CMMS and Outlookto support maintenance planning documentation and analysis.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation including lifting up to 50 pounds; twisting bending kneeling and crawling on top of or under equipment; working in hot and cold environments; operating aerial lifts; using ladders; and working at heights.
Preferred
- Rockwell Automation Logix Maintainer or equivalent certification.
- Experience with industrial networks cybersecurity concepts and system integration.
- Experience SCADA systems and advanced automation applications.
