Job Summary

Job Title: Controller
Job Status: Full-time employee Salary Exempt
Reports to: CFO with dotted line to Site General Manager
Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for ensuring operational financial discipline cost visibility working capital efficiency and cash management at the plant level. This role translates plant operations into accurate and timely corporate financial reporting supports fast month-end close and drives profitability and cash flow improvement in a highly leveraged manufacturing environment. The Controller also ensures compliance and supports weekly ABL bank reporting annual field exam and annual audit.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting operations including general ledger accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and fixed assets
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly and annual financial close
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP including variances to budget
  • Develop and maintain short-term cashflow forecasts
  • Monitor working capital including receivables payables and inventory
  • Coordinate external audits field exams tax filings and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with operations and leadership to support business performance and profitability
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements
  • Lead mentor and develop the accounting team
  • Manage analyze & update manufacturing costs including standard costing variance analysis and inventory valuation.
  • Lead semi annual Physical Inventories ensure correct valuations and timely uploads into ERP system
  • Assist in preparation of budgets forecasts and long-term financial plans
  • Partner with operations to improve cost controls productivity and operational efficiency
  • Learn use understand and be a key problem solver for our manufacturing and accounting ERP system (EstiTrack)
  • Analyze capital expenditures and track ROI on manufacturing investments
  • Support pricing decisions through cost and margin analysis
  • Prepare review and support bank borrowing base calculations (inventory and accounts receivable) in an ABL structure
  • Take a lead role in treasury management which includes approving wires checks ensuring payments are made problem solving and periodically coordinating with banking personnel
  • This role currently oversees A/R (shared among other businesses) and A/P
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment including prior leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and internal controls
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • 4 years of experience in manufacturing finance cost accounting or plant controlling
  • Strong understanding of standard costing variance analysis and inventory accounting
  • Experience with borrowing base calculations and lender reporting preferred
  • Strong analytical communication and business partnering skills
