We are seeking a seasoned Controller with strong experience in the energy industry to lead key accounting functions within a complex operating environment. This role requires a hands-on leader who will actively engage in day-to-day accounting operations while mentoring and developing a high-performing team. This position offers the opportunity to support a large globally connected organization with long-term stability and growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee core accounting functions including revenue accounts payable and partner-related billing activities
Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
Provide hands-on leadership including coaching mentoring and developing accounting staff
Remain actively involved in daily accounting operations; this is not a purely oversight role
Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes controls and reporting
Partner cross-functionally with operations and finance leadership teams
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
Support financial reporting and operational decision-making
Requirements
10 years of accounting experience within the energy or natural resources sector
Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller preferred
Strong experience working within ERP-driven accounting environments
Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
Strong understanding of revenue accounting and cost allocation methodologies
Industry experience required (not solely public accounting)
CPA preferred but not required
