Controller
Location: Bellingham WA (Hybrid: 3 Days In Office / 2 Days Remote)
Salary: $100000$125000 DOE
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established manufacturer and are seeking a hands-on Controller to partner directly with the CFO and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization.
This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of accounting while helping improve processes strengthen internal controls and support the companys continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations including cash management and bank reconciliations
- Manage the general ledger journal entries account reconciliations and month-end close
- Oversee accounts receivable customer invoicing collections and cash application
- Monitor cash flow and prepare daily cash reporting
- Support inventory and cost accounting including inventory valuation product costing and analysis of operational costs
- Prepare financial statements and management reporting
- Process expense reports banking transactions and payroll support activities
- Assist with annual audits 1099 reporting and year-end close
- Develop and document accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes reporting and operational efficiencies
- Partner closely with the CFO on financial analysis budgeting and special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing food production distribution or related environment is highly preferred
- Experience leading month-end close and preparing financial statements
- ERP experience required (NorthScope experience is a plus)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Self-motivated detail-oriented and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
- CPA or public accounting experience is a plus but not required
