PRISMECS is seeking an experienced Control Room Supervisor to provide supervisory advisory and technical oversight for three GE TM2500 Gen 8 gas turbine units at a power-generation project near Memphis Tennessee.
The successful candidate will monitor and document unit conditions support shift handovers coordinate operational communications maintain accurate reports and escalate alarms or abnormal operating conditions.
This is strictly a supervisory and advisory position and does not involve hands-on maintenance or repair work.
- Monitor GE TM2500 Gen 8 units and related plant equipment from the main and local control rooms.
- Monitor and record operating parameters including power output fuel flow exhaust temperatures vibration alarms auxiliary systems and other operating conditions.
- Classify alarms and immediately escalate critical alarms trips abnormal conditions and operational risks.
- Observe startups shutdowns loading load changes normal operations abnormal events and emergency-response activities.
- Maintain accurate control-room logs shift records alarm records daily notes and shift-handover documentation.
- Coordinate with Field Supervisors the Shift Supervisor or Team Leader client representatives O&M personnel rental providers OEM representatives and other site stakeholders.
- Identify and report equipment abnormalities deviations unsafe conditions and operational concerns.
- Support troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis by providing timelines alarm information trends observations and other relevant technical information.
- Prepare daily weekly monthly incident and management reports.
- Support knowledge transfer between project teams and maintain continuity between shifts.
- Follow all HSE requirements Lockout/Tagout procedures permit-to-work requirements site policies and operating procedures.
- Immediately report incidents injuries near misses environmental concerns safety violations and equipment failures.
- Provide technical observations and advisory feedback to project leadership.
- Perform additional supervisory reporting coordination and technical-oversight duties within the approved scope.
- Must currently reside in the United States.
- Must already possess valid authorization to work in the United States.
- Must not require current or future visa sponsorship or immigration assistance from PRISMECS.
- Must be available to work on-site near Memphis Tennessee.
- Previous experience in control-room supervision operations supervision commissioning support or power-generation operations oversight.
- Experience in power generation aeroderivative gas turbines or a similar industrial-plant environment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical instrumentation and control systems.
- Strong understanding of control-room monitoring alarm response operating procedures shift handovers and contractor coordination.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout permit-to-work procedures and industrial safety requirements.
- Ability to maintain accurate technical logs operational records and reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital reporting tools.
- Ability to work rotating day and night shifts supporting 24/7 operations and approximately 4860 hours per week.
- Fluent English communication skills including reading writing and speaking.
- Previous experience with GE TM2500 units.
- Direct experience with GE TM2500 Gen 8 units is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting gas-turbine startups shutdowns commissioning or continuous plant operations.
- Strong troubleshooting reporting and technical-observation skills.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused dependable detail-oriented accountable and able to remain composed during alarms or abnormal operational events. The individual must communicate effectively work well within a multicultural team and promptly escalate technical issues.
Scope clarification: This position is supervisory and advisory only. It does not include preventive or corrective maintenance repairs wrenching parts replacement special-tool operation or other hands-on maintenance activities.
Required Skills:
Required: Bachelors degree in Control Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering 5 years of experience in power plant control systems Hands-on experience with: PLC / SCADA / HMI systems Protection relays and instrumentation MV/LV electrical systems Experience with ABB ComAp or DEIF control systems Experience with power system tools (ETAP SKM EazyPower CYME) Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience with RCA and technical reporting Preferred: Experience with TM2500 or Cummins QSK60 systems Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus etc.) Knowledge of NEC IEEE ANSI standards Experience in mobile or temporary power projects
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Controls Engineering Instrumentation Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
