Lets do this. Lets change the world. This Contract Development Manager Provider Contracting role is a customer contract delivery role within Provider Contract Development. The Contract Development Manager owns assigned provider contract documents from request through execution ensuring approved business intent is translated into accurate executable contract language and that the contract record is complete and reliable in the CLM environment.

The role reports to a Provider Business Segment Lead and supports the Segment Leads portfolio ownership. The role uses approved templates clauses and drafting guidance; contributes practical insights to improve reusable drafting assets; and partners with enterprise roles when contract language templates or processes should be standardized across the organization.

In this vital role you will operate in a dynamic business-critical contracting environment supporting Provider Contract Development. You will be responsible for creating revising managing and quality-checking provider customer contract documents maintaining accurate contract data in the CLM system and collaborating across functions to ensure key controls in the contracting process are met.

Core Responsibilities

1. Customer Contract Drafting and Document Ownership

  • Draft revise and manage provider agreements amendments notice letters termination letters schedules exhibits and related customer contract documents.
  • Translate Coverage & Pricing-approved business intent discount strategies rebate structures and contract terms into clear accurate and executable contract language.
  • Prepare contract documents for internal review Law review business approval execution and downstream implementation.
  • Ensure final contract documents accurately reflect approved terms applicable templates business requirements and required process controls.
  • Maintain document quality through careful proofreading version control issue tracking and timely escalation of drafting or business questions.

2. Segment Portfolio Support

  • Support assigned provider segment portfolios under the direction of the Segment Lead such as hospital GPO oncology general medicine inflammation rare disease nephrology retina or other provider contracting areas.
  • Manage assigned contract requests from intake through completion while balancing timing quality business urgency and stakeholder expectations.
  • Participate in portfolio planning renewal planning document review meetings and customer-specific contracting discussions as requested by the Segment Lead.
  • Provide accurate status updates identify risks or delays and proactively surface dependencies that may impact contract delivery.
  • Build segment expertise by learning customer structures product-specific language recurring contract models and common business issues within assigned portfolios.

3. CLM Data Integrity and Contract Controls

  • Own the accuracy of contract data and document records for assigned work in Conga CLM or the applicable contract lifecycle management system.
  • Ensure key contract terms metadata file history approvals executed documents and supporting materials are complete accurate and appropriately maintained.
  • Follow required contracting controls including intake validation document creation review routing approvals execution readiness file retention and handoff to downstream teams.
  • Support audit litigation or compliance-related document retrieval requests by researching contract records and producing accurate supporting documentation.
  • Identify data quality issues system gaps or recurring process breakdowns and escalate them through the appropriate Segment Lead Business Integration or system-support channel.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Coverage & Pricing Law Contract Pricing Execution Government Pricing Finance Contract Business Operations and other cross-functional partners.
  • Help ensure contract documents are aligned with approved pricing intent implementation needs operational feasibility and compliance considerations.
  • Participate in meetings to clarify business requirements anticipate downstream needs resolve open questions and keep contract work moving.
  • Communicate contract status risks required decisions and document history clearly to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in knowing when to proceed when to ask questions and when to escalate.

5. Contract Quality Standardization and Continuous Improvement

  • Use approved templates clauses playbooks job aids and standard work to support consistent contract drafting across the Provider Contract Development organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contract language templates checklists standard documents workflows or knowledge resources based on real contract work.
  • Flag customer language contract structures or drafting approaches that may have broader reuse value for Contract Development & Governance review.
  • Support enterprise drafting or implementation initiatives as requested including master agreement refreshes product launch readiness WAC or NDC changes notice programs tear sheets and other cross-segment activities.
  • Contribute to a learning culture by sharing lessons learned raising process improvement ideas and supporting consistent ways of working across the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree
  • OR Masters degree and 2 years of commercial contracting sales operations finance and/or analytics experience
  • OR Bachelors degree and 4 years of commercial contracting sales operations finance and/or analytics experience
  • OR Associates degree and 10 years of commercial contracting sales operations finance and/or analytics experience
  • OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of commercial contracting sales operations finance and/or analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience drafting editing or managing commercial agreements amendments notices letters schedules exhibits or related contract documents.
  • Experience translating business terms pricing structures rebate arrangements discount programs or contract requirements into clear written contract language.
  • Experience in healthcare pharmaceutical biotechnology market access provider contracting hospital/GPO contracting sales operations finance legal operations or contract lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with CLM systems such as Conga DocuSign or similar contract systems; experience maintaining contract data metadata approvals and executed contract records.
  • Strong writing proofreading issue-spotting and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and document quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and control discipline.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working with Law Coverage & Pricing Contract Pricing Execution Government Pricing Finance and operational partners.
  • Learning agility and curiosity to build expertise across provider customer segments product portfolios pricing constructs and contracting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements reusable language opportunities or workflow gaps and translate them into practical recommendations.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant skills experience and qualifications.
