Summary:Supports the Transmission Planning team in preparation of analytical studies to identify prudent upgrades to the transmission system. Performs model coordination tasks with DLCs Regional Transmission Organization PJM. Works collaboratively with other DLC teams to initiate projects for identified system needs. Advises DLC on technical matters related to Transmission Planning to educate policy and regulatory decisions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs system modeling load flow dynamic transient stability analyses generation interconnection and other technical studies to enable integrated system planning.
- Perform model coordination tasks with PJM.
- Prepares reports with conclusions and recommendations on findings.
- Conduct long-term near-term and seasonal planning studies of transmission sub-transmission and distribution systems using appropriate criteria to assess adequacy and security of systems and maintain compliance with NERC Reliability and DLC Planning criteria.
- Prepare business plans/projects to document system needs and to allocate capital resources to appropriate mix of new business improvement rehabilitation and structured maintenance projects.
- Assists less experienced engineers with studies of higher technicality to help fulfill departmental goals and objectives.
- Support and provide technical subject matter expertise in relevant policy and regulatory discussions.
- Participate on behalf of DLC in various industry committees working groups and initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:

Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
- 10 years of related experience required
- Experience with power system simulation software such as CYME PROMOD Synergi SINCAL PSCAD EMTP etc.
- Experience participating in industry committees working groups and initiatives where best practices are shared and discussed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency with PSS/E TARA and associated python APIs.
- Knowledge of PJMs Regional Transmission Expansion Process (RTEP) and Generator Interconnection Process
- Knowledge of Advanced Transmission Technologies such as Advanced Power Flow Control devices Dynamic Line Ratings Transmission switching etc.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Adaptability flexibility and comfort with working in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage various priorities.
- Prompt executor.
- Ability to lead complex projects.
