Seeking a leadership-oriented Construction Superintendent to join a premier civil engineering firm inColumbus Ohio. This is more than a field role; it is a path to company ownership via our ESOP program. The ideal candidate will lead project staff and subcontractors ensuring high-spec engineering projects are delivered safely on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Create 3-week look ahead schedules verify work progress and manage project close-outs/punch lists.
- Plan construction methods equipment needs and staffing levels; coordinate daily with Project Managers and Field Ops.
- Maintain precise daily job reports and provide data for cost/schedule forecasting.
Quality and Safety:
- Lead safety incentive programs perform weekly inspections and conduct Toolbox Talks
- Ensure all methods and products meet or exceed project specifications and engineering drawings.
People and Compliance:
- Train and develop junior project staff and promote a professional development culture.
- Actively ensure minority participation (DBE) goals are met on all assigned projects.
- Act as the primary liaison between the owners representatives and the field crews.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or equivalent field experience.
- 4 years of supervisory experience in heavy civil or commercial construction.
- Proficiency in HCSS Bluebeam and Microsoft 365.
- Proven ability to read construction documents and manage large diverse labor groups.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours (overnight/weekends) as project milestones require.
