Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an experienced Construction Manager in our Newark DE office for a variety of infrastructure projects throughout the Delaware-Maryland-Pennsylvania area. Typical assignments may include water and wastewater projects erosion and sediment control inspection stormwater facilities inspection and other projects throughout the tri-state area.
Typical responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Prepare preconstruction meeting agendas conduct the meetings prepare and distribute meeting minutes
- Prepare monthly progress meeting agendas conduct the meetings prepare and distribute meeting minutes
- Review submittals requests for information and change order proposals from the contractor coordinate with the design engineer and AECOM client to provide review comments to the contractor and maintain a record of all such communications review comments and approvals
- Review pay requests submitted by the contractor and make recommendations to the AECOM client
- Oversee the work of the AECOM construction inspectors at the site and provide senior field support during the course of the work
- Oversee the work of subcontractors and subcontractor compliance with contract and project requirements
- Monitor project schedule and budget performance identify variances and communicate status updates to project stakeholders and AECOM management
- Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure work conforms to contract specifications plans and applicable codes and regulations
- Identify document and coordinate resolution of field issues conflicts and non-conformances with the contractor and design team
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including daily logs inspection reports correspondence and photographic records
- Coordinate site logistics safety compliance and environmental requirements to ensure adherence to project protocols and regulatory standards
- Occasional outdoor work in a variety of seasonal weather conditions
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS degree plus 8 years of related experience or AS Degree plus 10 years of related experience or HS/GED plus 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education
- US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects
- Valid US Drivers License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to understand construction plans shop drawing submittals specifications and applicable codes and regulations and to identify and document deficiencies and deviations observed in the field.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Detailed-oriented and ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
