WHO YOU ARE
You are an experiencedConstruction Estimatorwith at least three (3) years of estimating experience and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Youre ultimately responsible for bidding construction projects by preparing conceptual and hard-cost estimates which includes: ensuring general requirements; estimating overhead and profit projects; soliciting subcontractor and vendor bids; reviewing all project documents for accuracy; performing quantity take-offs; constructability review and value-engineering analysis for all construction projects received; and supporting quality construction standards and procedures.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING
  • Create and publish accurate cost estimates based on construction documents and information provided at various stages of project development including conceptual estimates Rough-Orderof-Magnitude (ROM) estimates and complete construction estimates that are the basis for entering into construction contracts.
  • Provide clear detailed quantity take-offs.
  • Obtain and analyze project plans and specifications scopes of work contractual terms and conditions related reports or assessments and other project information prior to beginning an estimate.
  • Assist and consult in retaining trade materials and qualified subcontractor quotes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Collaborate with project management team architects and owners through the conceptual design development and bidding phases.
  • Meet with potential clients and architects to discuss proposed services.
  • Develop foster and maintain trades subcontractor relationships.
  • Analyze drawings and specifications. Provide value-engineering ideas and strategies as appropriate.
  • Assist with completing the construction budget before the project starts construction and entering into Owner/Contractor agreement including effectively monitoring progress to identify any potential risks.
  • Provide knowledge education and training to the construction team to enhance the financial acumen of the division. Partner with leaders to identify gaps in capability accountability and performance.
WHAT YOU NEED
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of estimating experience involving multifamily new construction and renovations of wood-framed buildings over 50 units and light commercial projects.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints drawings and cut sheets.
  • Ability to use computer hardware construction estimating and on-screen takeoff software mobile devices and other technology applications.
  • Ability to use CAD programs a plus.
