Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking a Construction Engineer to join our Construction Materials Engineering and Testing team in Charlotte NC.

As a Construction Engineer responsibilities include the following:

  • Receives technical and operational direction from the assigned Project Manager.
  • Performs Special Inspection activities in the areas of certifications.
  • Prepares clear and accurate reports of testing and inspection activities. Submits reports in a timely manner.
  • Conducts sampling testing inspection and may use specialized instruments and equipment.
  • Is attentive to detail monitors safety and work quality. Determines root causes of quality problems and implement solutions owns/acts on quality problems.
  • Communicates clearly both verbally and in written form with project and internal team members is committed to excellence looks for improvements continuously within their own work product and in team processes.
  • Demonstrates leadership and leads small teams on more complex projects.
  • Actively champion the LPS system performing LPOs and sharing LPSAs stressing the importance of safety and technical excellence with project teams.
  • Actively assists with training new employees in work assignments LPS processes and verifying competencies.

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of experience required.
  • BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or an equivalent of experience.
  • Strong communication and writing skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills are essential.
  • Position requires candidate be pro-active and personable.
  • Ability to learn quickly and assist with applicable tasks
  • Prior construction experience is a plus.

Following an offer candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials a motor vehicle report (MVR) and a comprehensive background check.
