Introduction
Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Configuration Engineer position. This position is a contract hire opportunity located in Schenectady NC which is expected to be a Hybrid work arrangement and for a duration of one year with potential of extension and/or possible temp to hire. Local candidates are preferred.
Job Description:
- Create and maintain Engineering BOM (EBOM) and Unit BOMs along with the conversion and push of Manufacturing BOM (MBOM) to various ERP systems (PowerMax etc.) throughout the projects lifecycle
- Support Inquiry to Order (ITO) team (Commercial and Application Engineering) in the successful OTR transition of project scope definition in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) GTCC tool or equivalent after Order Release Meeting (ORM)
Collaborate with the Project Engineering on the timely handoff of the requisitions scope definition within the PLM tool or equivalent to the OTR CM team - Verify accurate generation of logical features per selected configuration features options and Variant Configuration Central (VCC) logic within PLM tool or other established method and enact necessary actions to resolve discrepancies in collaboration with the ITO CM team
- Support Preliminary Bill of Materials (PBOM) review meeting for Steam Turbine and Generator products
- Validate standard parts selected through GBOM rules and support Configure to Order (CtO) efforts maximize direct release percentage on requisition orders
- Assist manufacturing and MSD sourcing teams in addressing concerns with bill of material timeliness and disconnects conduct regular BOM integrity monitoring and reporting
- Execute CMs role and responsibilities in Change Management processes
- Collaborate with other functions (such as Sourcing Manufacturing Project Engineering Design Engineering other CMPD teams etc.) towards continuous improvement and Lean activities
Qualified candidates would have the following:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics Chemistry Mathematics or Computer Science
- Experience in process use and development with regards to product definition development Bill of Material management configuration management concepts program/project scheduling and field installation
Desired - Clear thinking open to new ideas and demonstrated experience in the implementation of new tools and processes
- PLM (product lifecycle management) systems experience.
