Computer Support Technician Substitute Pool

Installs modifies and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the duties listed below. Assists in the maintenance and support of LAN and WAN networking DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInstalls or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors keyboards printers and disk drives on users specified software packages such as operating systems word processing or spreadsheet programs into commands and observes system functions to verify correct system to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware software and operator users in use of equipment software and or performs minor remedial actions to correct activities with help desk network services or other information systems updates status and completion information to manager problem request tracking system and/or users visa voice mail e-mail or in-person defective or inadequate software major hardware problems to service personnel for duties as RESPONSIBLITIESThis job has no supervisory in operation and support of computers and networking systems. Knowledge of major networking software. Working knowledge of IBM compatible systems and familiarity with the Macintosh system. Knowledge of networking hardware systems. Neat personal appearance. Ability to work effectively with students and staff; ability to troubleshoot and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma. At least one year of experience supporting a significant computer network or DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or craw. The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception and ability to adjust ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions fumes or airborne particles risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
