Applied Materials is looking to recruitanoutstandingengineer to support itscomputational modeling groupspecializing in plasmaphysics simulations.In this roleyou willdevelopstate-of-the-artmodels that leverage physics simulation toolstocharacterizethecomplexmulti-physicsenvironmentin Applied Materials products and work closely with engineers across multiple business units to develop new solutions to difficult problems.You willwork closely with design and process engineers toenhance existing products as well asplay a key role inthe development of next-generation chambers and processes.You will also actively participate in the development of AI/ML algorithms to help accelerate simulations and improve prediction accuracy.
Required Qualifications
M.S/PhDinMechanical/Electrical/Aerospace/ChemicalEngineeringor related field
3years of relevant experience
Coursework and hands-on experience in plasma modeling fluid flow phenomena chemical kinetics feature-scale modeling
Proficient inprogrammingusing(Python /Matlab/ C/C/etc.)
An analyticalmindset with great attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with
developing or using commercial/academic computational plasma modeling tools
developing or using commercial/academic feature-scale simulation tools
Coursework and hands-on experience in machine learning / statistics / design of experiments / reduced order modeling / surrogate model development

YesThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location hire grade job-related knowledge skills experience and with consideration of internal equity of our current team addition to a comprehensive benefits package candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program as applicable.
For all sales roles the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
