Composite Materials Supervisor

This position requires a self-motivated person who maintains an exceptional working relationship with colleagues sales manufacturing and customers. The Composite Materials Supervisor will report directly to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical project management and daily supervision of an expanding composites department.
• Identify and ensure adequate and appropriate resources are assigned to product/projects to ensure the design is controlled the companys goals for the successful completion of the product/project are achieved and the customers needs are met.
• Report on performance and maintain a budget for the effective operation of the composite department.
• Supervise layups custom vacuum bagging oven autoclave processing and operation of hydraulic presses and associated equipment.
• Identify customer needs and develop effective solutions while working in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Position requires working knowledge of many typical resin/matrix types with particular emphasis on materials for aircraft related tooling and parts.
• Knowledge of press operation autoclave and oven thermal process using vacuum bag methods is a must.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other business-related programs.
• Familiarity will Catia or Surfcam is a plus.
• Complete attention to detail for accurate and timely completion of jobs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced deadline orientated environment.
• Direct supervisory or technical management experience is a major plus.

Education and Experience

• BS/MS in Engineering Materials Science or ME with Advanced Materials focus.
• 5 years of industrial experience with direct composites development production and/or design background
• Ability to read and work from blueprints in 2D and 3D
• Proficient mathematical skills with the ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances. (GD&T)
