The Compensation/Benefits Specialist supports the design administration and continuous improvement of compensation benefits and well-being programs. Through data analysis market benchmarking and reporting this role helps ensure Troons total rewards strategy enhances employee experience supports talent objectives and drives organizational performance while maintaining market competitiveness and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compensation data and resources including preparing compensation analyses and recommendations for new and existing jobs.
  • Support the administration compensation related accountabilities including the annual merit process minimum wage and FLSA compliance.
  • Administer all aspects of Troons 401(k) and non-qualified plans including but not limited to weekly payroll funding providing associate customer service assisting with annual audits and communication of educational opportunities.
  • Assists with the design implementation and communication of compensation benefits retirement and wellbeing programs.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal state and local regulations including pay transparency wage and hour requirements and benefits-related reporting.
  • Monitors and reconciles benefit premium payments owed while associates are on leave of absence.
  • Reconciles approves and ensures timely and accurate payment of all benefits billing invoices. Works closely with the Finance/Accounting/Payroll Departments and researches discrepancies between enrollment and deductions. Participates with accounting audits as it relates to benefits and retirement plans. Ensure required deadlines are met in order to achieve on-time payments.
  • Assist in the development of and maintenance of total rewards policies procedures and governance documents.
  • Support testing of the HRIS and AI functionality to ensure accurate return of data and information reporting and ad-hoc data requirements.
  • Contribute to other HR and Total Rewards duties and projects as needed.

Required Experience:

  • Three years or more of experience working in Human Resources specializing in compensation benefits or analytics. Experience working in a payroll related or corporate accounting role will also be considered.
  • Experience with multiple insurance billing reconciliations.
  • Familiar with administrating self-insured and fully insured plans HRAs FSAs and 401(k) plans.
  • Experience working in a multi-state and multi-site environment.
  • Experience with HRIS applications (experience with UKG and Workforce Dimensions a plus).
  • Experience using IBM Cognos Analytics is a plus.
  • Experience working with HR related AI agents and functionality is preferred.

    Required Knowledge and Skills:

    • Strong proficiency with Excel (vlookups pivot tables) Word Outlookand SharePoint.
    • Exceptional analytic abilities and attention to detail demonstrated through prior work experience.
    • Knowledge of wage and benefits laws and regulations including Affordable Care Act ERISA and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
    • Ability to manage multiple high priority assignments concurrently.
    • Teamwork - showing commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
    • General understanding of Accounting principles is preferred.

      Education Requirements:

      • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
