The Community Counselor - Master Level identifies client and family needs and evaluates coordinates and provides necessary services information and treatment in either a residential or a non-residential setting. Primary Job Functions

1. Identify client and family needs and evaluate coordinate and provide necessary services information and treatment in either a residential or a non-residential setting.

• Deliver case management services by providing information linkages and referrals including but not limited to substance abuse and mental health service referrals.
• Maintain clinical records and program documentation according to contract and CHS standards (assessments treatment plans progress notes termination summaries etc.).
• Facilitate client educational classes such as independent living skills anger management behavior management etc.
• Provide on-call support as required or scheduled.
• Supervise student interns as needed.
• Provide in-depth assessments treatment plans and interventions; follow-up as required.
• Provide services to clients through individual group and family therapy.
• Refer clients for case staffings when requested or for non-compliance.
• Attend and participate in client-related court hearings.
• Train direct care staff as requested or required.
• Provide specialized services that may include conducting forensic interviews providing expert assistance to state agencies expert court testimony etc.
• Assist and/or present cases to medical providers.
• Complete suicide risk screening assessments and follow-up assessments as required.
• Oversee the behavioral program associated with the client treatment plan.
• Participate in treatment team meetings.

• Develop a strong knowledge base and stay current on job-related issues and trends.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings training and education as well as the quality process.
• Comply with CHSs code of conduct policies procedures and other obligations.
• Assist with training other team members and providing back up when necessary.
• Pick up projects on the fly; perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
• Demonstrate the CHS Common Bond values in the performance of all job duties.

Job Qualifications

Education Licenses & Certifications:

• Masters degree in Human Services related field from an accredited university required.
• Florida Drivers License within 30 days from hire is required along with daily access to a reliable and insured vehicle.

Experience:

• Two years of post-Bachelors degree Human Services related experience required.
• Experience working with children and families preferred.
