- Develop and execute communications plans for project milestones throughout the project lifecycle from early development through operations.
- Create project narratives and engagement strategies that support community meetings public events open houses construction milestones media opportunities and other stakeholder-facing activities.
- Develop communications campaigns that support priority business objectives policy initiatives and regulatory engagement efforts.
- Transform technical and industry-specific information into clear accessible and engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Create communications materials including FAQs fact sheets presentations newsletters website content public notices talking points social media content and stakeholder communications.
- Identify and amplify stories that showcase AES innovation community partnerships economic contributions responsible development practices and leadership in the energy transition.
- Support media engagement across project markets and identify opportunities to strengthen AES visibility and credibility.
- Monitor local media public records and emerging topics to inform communications planning and proactive stakeholder engagement.
- Develop media materials leadership messaging response strategies and briefing resources.
- Support issue management and crisis communications efforts related to project activities emerging issues and reputational considerations.
- Help ensure consistent messaging and communication readiness across projects and stakeholders.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align communications activities with project and business priorities.
- Build trusted relationships across a matrixed organization and serve as a strategic communications partner to assigned teams.
- Manage relationships with agencies consultants vendors and external partners.
- Contribute to the development of tools templates reporting mechanisms and scalable processes that enhance communication effectiveness and consistency.
- Travel may be required based on project and business needs.
- Experience in communications public affairs public relations marketing journalism stakeholder engagement community relations or a related field.
- Bachelors degree in Communications Public Relations Marketing Journalism Political Science Environmental Policy or a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience supporting projects within renewable energy utilities infrastructure sustainability or other regulated or community-facing industries is valued.
- Exceptional written verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear messages tailored to different audiences and communication channels.
- Strong project management planning prioritization and organizational skills.
- Experience building productive relationships across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
- Experience working with agencies consultants vendors or external partners.
- Sound judgment and professionalism when managing sensitive information or rapidly evolving situations.
- Familiarity with media monitoring stakeholder management digital communications content management social listening or project management platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to travel as business needs require.
