Communications Instructor

Job Summary

ECTC is seeking a Communications Instructor with the ability and desire to teach General Education oral communication courses including COM181 COM252 and any other related courses. This position will instruct the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester and be responsible for student guidance-advising activities internal and institutional service external and community service professional development activities and educational leadership. Assignments may include some evening weekend and/or off-campus courses. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to teaching working with a diverse population and serving the community and technical college mission.
The assignment period is a full-time 10-month (August-May) position.

Position Requirements:
1. Ability to teach in a professional enthusiastic and organized manner across multiple modalities to reach as many students as possible.
2. Ability to augment teaching strategies for college-ready and underprepared students to reach diverse populations with diverse educational needs.
3. Ability to work effectively on a team.
4. Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
5. Proficient computer skills.
6. Experience with instructional technology such as Blackboard or a similar learning management system preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree in Communication or a Masters with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Communication.
